His credits include GRAMMY-nominated and GRAMMY-winning recordings, with artists including Turnstile, Shakira, Twenty One Pilots, Jamie xx, Lake Street Dive, Brittany Howard, Shania Twain, Billy Strings, and Béla Fleck, alongside work with composers and ensembles such as David Lang, John Zorn, Kronos Quartet, Sō Percussion, yMusic, and the Metropolitan Opera.

Lawson brings a performer's ear and a composer's sense of architecture to every session — whether shaping a vocal, capturing an ensemble live in a room, or building an electronic texture from nothing. He works from The Parlor, his studio on Music Row in Nashville, and takes on production, engineering, mixing, and mastering projects for artists, labels, and film.
