🔊 Zoom-Share Computer Audio from Computer

Goal: Everyone hears the Shruti (from Vimeo) and hears you speaking at the same time.

Best practice: Use headphones/earbuds to prevent echo.

1) Pre-flight (30–60 seconds)

  • Open the script (ready to read)

  • Open Vimeo (loaded + paused)

  • Set your computer volume around 50–70%

2) Start sharing audio (choose ONE option)

Option A (recommended): Share audio only (privacy-friendly, easiest)

  1. In Zoom, click Share Screen

  2. Click the Advanced tab

  3. Select Computer audio (sometimes labeled Music or Computer Sound Only)

  4. Click Share

✅ People hear Vimeo audio. ✅ You can keep reading your script privately. ✅ Your mic still works.

Then: press Play on Vimeo, and speak normally.

Option B: Share the Vimeo window with sound (if you want them to see it)

  1. In Zoom, click Share Screen

  2. On the Basic tab, select the browser window that has Vimeo

  3. Check ✅ Share sound

  4. Only if you’re sharing full-screen video: ✅ Optimize for video sharing
(Don’t enable this otherwise — it can make shared screens look blurry.)

  5. Click Share

3) Play Shruti + talk

  • Press Play in Vimeo

  • Keep your Zoom mic unmuted

  • If your voice is getting buried, lower the Vimeo volume a bit

Volume tip: To change the level of the shared sound, adjust the volume in Vimeo (or your device volume).

4) Stop sharing

  • Click Stop Share

  • Pause/stop Vimeo

If you don’t see Share Screen: you may not have permission in the breakout—ask the host/co-host to enable sharing.
